Five More Poems To Touch Your Soul

(Poem 10 of 365)

Fifty-Five

55 years passed like spirits passing through the eye of a needle.
Each year crawled by like a slow walking ground beetle.
This life has been hard!
This life has been scarred!
But... by the stars, the bright light is now in sight, people.

The Light

There is a light at the end of this finitely long road.
Will I find a cut diamond there at the end... or an ugly toad?
I will take what is waiting for me there,
For I am always reaching for more fresh air!
I am ready for the light at the end of the road to show me my bode.

(Poem 12 of 365)

Missing What You Never Had

The old black man laments the one thing in life he never had...
That would be the true love from a white women, too bad.
He has always love everything about them,
But never had the nerve to pluck at that stem...
And now it is too late to go where silly taboo has made him sad.

(Poem 13 of 365)

Ocean Spray

A man once asked himself, “Just how long is this lifetime?”
He pondered the creaking, graying, painful facts of aging... most sublime.
The thoughts really came to mind  while sitting on the beach sand,
When he looked at the back of his sun lit liver spotted hand.
Even the mystical spiritualism off the ocean had no answers to remind.

(Poem 14 0f 365)

Girth

On the last day of your Terra Firma existence on this spinning ball of earth...
Will you have seen everything you have dreamed of seeing of noted worth?
Will you see your children grow old?
Will you see your children’s children give you warmth when you are cold?
OK, still another reason to go to the gym and work off that midsection girth!
